Tune into the Tsongkhapa Empowerment – Sun July 22nd Meditation / Contemplation

Gen Kelsang Dekyong will be giving the Je Tsongkhapa empowerment at Manjushri Centre in Cumbria on Sunday. The session begins at 4pm GMT.

We can be there in mind if not in body. And since the  definitive Je Tsongkhapa pervades the entire universe; we can be sure that he is most definitely here with us.

Je Tsongkhapa and Sons

Migtsema prayer

Tsongkhapa, crown ornament of the scholars of the Land of the Snows,
You are Avalokiteshvara, the treasury of unobservable compassion,
Manjushri, the supreme stainless wisdom,
And Vajrapani, the destroyer of the hosts of maras;
O Losang Dragpa I request you, please grant your blessings.

 Tune in to the Blessings

~ Meditate or just Contemplate

Find a quiet space, and settle down to meditate.
If this isn’t possible, just thinking about Tsongkhapa will allow him to bless your mind ~ much like opening the shutters on a sunny day lets the sun in.

_/\_

We can allow our body to relax and our mind to clear.
Sit in a relaxed, comfortable position, with our back as straight as possible.
Follow the breath for awhile ~ the in-breath, the out-breath, the natural process of breathing.

When we’ve achieved some stillness in our mind, we can turn our attention to the empowerment.
A short prayer is good; or even just setting the good intention that doing this might be of benefit to ourselves and others.

We can allow ourselves to feel close to our Guru, Tsongkhapa and Gen Dekyong, (any or all is fine).
If this brings a smile, all the better.

Dekyong giving the empowerment is like a program being broadcast over the radio waves. Tuning our attention into Je Tsongkhapa at this time, is like turning our radio on.
By doing this we can be sure that we are receiving something of the transmission.

When we’ve finished our meditation, dedicate our merit for the benefit of all living beings; and we can rise from our session knowing that a difference has been made.

Sharing this will help flourish Dharma and world peace  _/\_

Dharma - Buddha’s teachings, and their subsequent inner realizations.
Dharma
means ‘protection’. By practising Buddha’s teachings we protect ourself from suffering and problems.

Meditation Flashmob Bristol

Yesterday afternoon’s meditation flashmob…. totally blissful vibe, radiating peace
out through Bristol’s busy streets and beyond.

I just liked that the monk sat in front of me, the family by me, and all these different people were meditating for a better world. The busy Park Street and Anchor Road faded away into a hazy feeling of well-being and peace.
